VOCABULARY

BASIC GEOMETRY CONCEPTS AND DEFINITIONS

  •  Geometry:   is the area that studies the elements and operations in the plane .
  •  Point:   in  the geometry the point can be the place or the location of two crossed             lines. A point hasn't dimension, height and width .
  •  Line:   is a suquence of points .
  •  Ray:   is a line that stars at a point .
  •  End point:   is the point that indicates the end of a ray .
  •  Midpoint:   is the point of a segment that is in the middle .
  •  Line segment:   is a line that has begin and end.
  •  Straight line:   is a line whose points follow the same direction.
  •  Plane:   are two dimensions.
  •  Lenght:   the measure of things that go from begin and end .

GEOMETRY DRAWING AND SUPPLIES CONCEPTS AND DEFINITION

  • Free hand:daw with the hand without measuring instruments
  • Line/Technical drawing:  is a drawoing which is do whith the help of the material.
  •  Compas:   is an instrument to draw circles.
  •  Protractor:   is an instrument for draws angles .
  •  Set squares:   two specials triangules one 45 grades and other 60 grades.
  •  Erasers:   is an instrument of drawing to delete bad things.
  •  Marker   its a pen with differents tips.
  •  Ruler:     is an instrument to draw straights lines.

IMPORTANT DEFITIONS ABOUT CIRCLES

  • Circle: set of points at the some distance to center
  • Circunference:It is the full lenght of a circle, it is the line around circle
  • Center: Its the point equidistant to any of the poits on a circle
  • RadiousIt is the length of a line segment from the centre to its perimeter
  • Diameter:It is a line segment pass to the center and corrects two points of the circle
  • Chord: Is a line that correct two points but not through to the center
  • Arc: Segment of a circle
  • Arrow: Is the perpendicular line from middle of choord
  • Tangent: It is  line tha cut (touch) in center

POLYGONS

  • Star polygon: Its a particular polygon case with a star form or shape
  • Inscribed polygons: They are polyons placed inside circles so all the vertices of the polygon are placed on the circle
  • Circumscribed: They are polygons sorruoundng a circle, being it sides taugent to the circle inside

POLYGONS CLASSIFICATION

  • Convex polygon: Any line draw through the polygon meets its boundary exacthy twice, one line segment with ndspoints pass to points of the shapes
  • Non convex polygon: There exist a line segment between two boundary points that passes outside the polygon
  • Equiangular: All their corner angle or vertices are equal
  • Equilateral: All edges or sides are of the same lenght
  • Regular: All their vertces nles and sides are equal
  • Irregular: Show different angles and lengths for their sides

DEFINITION AND CLASSIFICATIONS ABOUT TRIANGLES

  • Triangles: It is a flat figure with 3 sides and 3 angles
  • Equilateral: Has 3 sides equls and angles too
  • Isosceles: Has 2 sides equals and two angles equals too
  • Scalne: Has 3 sides differents and 3 angles differents too
  • Right: Has 1 angle of 90 grades
  • A cute: 3 angles less than 90 degrees
  • Obtuse: 1 angle less than  degrees
